Spring: Lips

IMG_1222 IMG_1225

When it comes to the Spring and putting on my make-up the bit that I like to make bold and bright is my lips. There something about the sunny weather, bright tulips and birds chirping that makes me want to apply a bright lip. Of course it has to be something bright, colourful and something that pops. No darks allowed. I also like to have something that is going to hydrate my lips, so mattes are a no go for me, if its going to hydrate my lips I’m all for it.

The first one I grabbed when I was thinking about what lips colours I’m going to be loving this Spring was this gorgeous orangey/red from Kiko, its the perfect pick me up for Spring. It makes me smile just looking at the colour so once its on your lips you’ll be smiling all day. This one is probably the driest out of all the lipsticks I have chosen but it such an amazing colour, that I can deal with a little bit of gloss over the top. The Topshop Lipstick in Ohh La La is a true barbie pink colour when applied to the lips it gives a really girly look. This is a very creamy lipstick and I’m going to be honest needs applying through out the day a lot, but I’m up for the challenge with that because I love the colour so much. The glossiest out of all that I have chosen is the YSL in 14, this is such a gorgeous pale pink, with a very glossy finish. I love that it leaves a glossy finish because it means I don’t have to find a gloss to match it, it also leaves the lips super hydrated which I am all for when it comes to Spring/Summer lips.  The brightest colour out the five have chosen is Mac’s  No Faux Pas, this is a matte formula but I don’t find this one drying on the lips. Some of the matte finish from Mac can be ultra drying but I find this to be quite creamy and the colour is to die for. I can’t wait to put this on with a simple plain outfit, on a summer nights garden drinks. The last is the palest out of all I have chosen and a one that Im sure we all know and have tried at least once and thats Mac’s Creme Cup. This was the first Mac lipstick I bought and have loved it ever since, I can find sometimes the colour can be a little bit washing but if you pair it with the right eye make-up and outfit it looks amazing! This is one for the everyday look, Ill probably keep this one in my bag for whenever I feel I need to tone it down a little.

What colour do you like for the Spring?

These colours are so pretty. I love to wear a good coral lipstick in Spring/Summer because it’s such a lovely happy shade!
