Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

IMG_2010 IMG_2012 IMG_2020

Oils where always something that I hid away from, having very oily skin I put a big red cross over anything oil based. I thought why when I struggle with oily based skin would I then want to add oil, Im doing all I can to get rid of it never mind adding it to my routine. After reading numerous skin care posts online, with people advising to add a little oil into your routine I thought why not give it a go. Still a little bit dubious when I headed into the Kiehl’s store in Kings Cross station after a heavy day of shopping in Oxford street and headed straight over to their Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I looked at the bottle, looked towards the door and before I could make a run for it a gorgeous sales assistant came over to me. I think she could probably tell from the look on my face that I was a little worried about what I was looking at and totally reassured me. She assessed my skin for a little while asking about different things in which I look after my skin, what products I use now and if I use any oil based products. She was such a lovely lady and really put me at ease to start bringing oil products into my skin care routine.

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate claims to instantly penetrate the skins surface to help replenish it, working at night when skin is more receptive to repairing itself from daily aggressors. It is a lightweight, readily-absorbed elixir which effectively restores skin’s healthy appearance, resulting in a smoother more radiant complexion. I can honestly say this stuff is amazing, its so soothing on the skin, due to the blend of oils including lavender. I drop two drops of this onto the tips of my fingers, heat the oil up by rubbing it between my hands then simply pat it into the skin gently. The motion of patting it really helps it to get into the skin, I leave this to dry for a couple of minutes and they apply my night time moisturiser.

I have to say when doing a little bit of research on different over night oils I found them to be quite pricey, I didn’t want to spend too much on my first one just incase it wasn’t for me. Or it didn’t sit well on my skin, thats when I found the Kiehls overnight oil and for a much smaller price of £38 which I know is still a little on the pricey side but it is amazing stuff. And to be honest as you only use two drops per night this stuff is really going to last you a long, long time. Ive also found since using this my skin has totally changed, rather than being dry and dull when I wake up on a morning it seems a little more healthier with a glow that Ive never seen in my skin before. The bottle has a pipette in the lid which makes it so much easier to only use a small amount each night, I love how quirky the bottle is. The dark blue bottle contacts the name of the products being midnight. Definitely a new staple in my night time skin care routine, any other products you think ill enjoy using please leave suggestions down in the comments.

this sounds so lovely! the price isn’t too bad either, i used to have the estee lauder advanced night repair and it did wonders for my skin, but the price put me off repurchasing – i might have to pick this one up instead!
