Whilst I had my little break away from my blog I celebrated my birthday, wahoo, I thought turning 19 would make me feel different and more of an adult. But in all honesty I feel no different than I did the night before my birthday. This was the first year that I didnt really ask for anything much and just wanted to get little bits of surprises, which is one of my favorite things about birthdays. I love all the nick nacky little bits and bobs. On the Saturday before my birthday myself and Alex went down to York where we shopped and dined. He treated me to a Jamie Olivers Kitchen Dinner and the cocktails flowed really well. Im not much of a partier so instead of going to clubs we sat in a few bars and headed back to the hotel early. The next day I woke up to balloons all over the bed and presents sprawled everywhere! We went for an early breakfast, shopped a little more then spent the afternoon and night at my mam and dad’s caravan where I was spoiled lots more. So heres a few of the bits I got for my birthday, the rest was money or gift vouchers which I am yet to spend, (expect another haul).

I love a movie night and was bought The Little Mermaid, Turbo, Pitch Perfect, The Perks of Being A Wallflower and Furris Buellers Day Off. I am so excited to get an afternoon off work and sit and watch them back to back! If any of you follow my instgram you will know my love for my little doggy and so Alex saw this book and decided he couldnt leave it. It has loads of different photos of dogs which have done things wrong and have been caught by its owner. I was also given the Laura Mercier Honey  Bath which is amazing! But is definitly getting kept for those days when im feeling like I need something a little more expensive on myself.

I was after a watch for my birthday but couldnt find one that I reallyreally liked, however Alex surprised me and picked out this gorgeous watch from Urban Outfitters, its exactly what I was after! He also got me this candle in a little shop in York which smells AMAZING! The boy did well this year and also picked out these gorgeous Ted Baker earrings which look lovely in. Similarly my Mam and Dad got me the Marc Jacob ones which I have been lusting over for an age! Another thing I have been asking for, for ages is the Nars Laguna Bronzer which I would have bought myself but sometime when things are a little more expensive I like to be bought them so I dont feel as guilty. My Mam also picked out the lovely By Terry eyeshadow stick which is in a gorgeous sparkly pink colour, of course this was off my Dad too but I really doubt he had anything to do with the purchase of this. Alex bought me the Mac Pro Longwear concealer which I helped him out with so he could get the correct colour. Teapigs is something else my Mam and Dad got me as they know how much I love a good cup of tea! The chalk bored you can see in the background is another present Alex bought me from a little shop in york which is going to come in handy with my blog.

I was lucky enough to recieve a few more bits and bobs that I have put away in my room or are essential things such as cotton wool etc which are now in use.

Has it been your birthday lately? Let me know in the comments if it has and what you got?!

This weeks post is all about shoes! One thing that I don’t talk  about much on my blog is shoes, but they are one of those things that when I see them ive just got to buy them. I thought with this post id show you all the different types of shoes I like to wear during the summer months. There is all different types of shoes in this post and all come from different shops, although I do often but many pairs of shoes from Primark each year as they are so cheap I think it is okay to buy them each year from there! Well that’s my excuse anyway. I thought is make this post slightly different and just show you the shoes and let you know where I got them from. They are all different in style and are my go-to shoes during the summer. So here goes…

I was set these samples by Ren to review their products, they asked me what skin type I was so they could send me samples which related to my skin. Just so you know I have combination oily skin and I also get occasional break outs. I had never tried the Ren products before but I am almost certain that I will be making an order very soon to get my hands on some full size products! I love the packaging of all the Ren products, I think the simple white container with the different colour stripe and small logo for each different range makes their products recognisable.

The first thing I received was the T-Zone Balancing Gel-Cream from their Clarimatte range, for the full size product (50ml) it costs £21. Which to some people is a lot for a moisturiser but for me something like this which is going to help my skin its not a lot to pay. I was using this on a night time instead of my usual  moisturiser as I always feel like with a  gel moisturiser it leaves your skin feeling refreshed and that’s exactly what this did. This sample size of 15ml lasted me a week and a half which for a small sized product like this I feel it is very good. I loved the consistency of the product and the over all feel. This is something that I will 100% be thinking about purchasing.

Next was the Invisible Pores Detox Mask again in the Clarimatte range, which is £18 for the full size product of 50ml which is an average price that you would pay for a high end mask. This was one of my favourite face masks I have ever used for my pores, once I had applied this I really felt like it got into those pesky little pores and pulled out all the horrible things that get into them. I did find that when I woke up the next day there was a few spots that wasn’t there the night before but I wasn’t too bothered about this as it made me think that this mask really did get into my pores! It has a clay like consistency which personally I love about face masks. This is already in my planned things to buy this month so cant wait to get my paws on this, hahah did you see what I did there!

The last thing I got was the Clarity Restoring Mask in the ClearcALM 3 range, which is £30 for the 50ml bottle, I don’t think I buy this in a hurry, don’t get me wrong anything that has mask in I love but I just didn’t love this as much as I did the other mask of theirs that I tried. For people who like a thinner mask this is definitely for you, it was still partly a clay texture but not as thick as the other. It still left my skin feeling silky smooth but it just wasn’t my favourite.

Overall, I would definitely buy more of the Ren products! but I would just have a little test of the products before I fully committed to buying them.

Which Ren products have you used and which would you recommend?

A few weeks ago I picked up a few of the Soap and Glory make-up products as a big fan of their body products. Although I had never used any of their beauty things. I picked up three of their products as it was on 3 for 2, who can say n to that kind of bargain?! Another thing that drew me to all the Soap and Glory products is all the quirky names they have, I really think that this is a selling point for me both the names and the packaging draw me in!

The first thing I picked up was the Archery Brow Tint &Precision Shaping Pencil which I had heard so much about here on the internet. I bought mine in the colour Brownie Points which is a gorgeous light brown shade. It has two ends to the product, one being a felt tip end and the other a wax crayon. I like to comb through my eyebrows then colour and shape them then go over them with the wax crayon to make sure they don’t move. I am really enjoying using this product as i find it so easy to use! and is a great product to use daily if you want to make your eyebrows look neater in a smaller time frame. I would definiltly recommend anyone to get this and at the small price off £10 which I think is incredible for a eyebrow tool!

Next I got my hands on the One Heck Of A Blot, which is a translucent powder which I apply on top of my foundation and concealer just to set it in place. This comes with a sponge although I don’t like to use this as I find it makes the powder look too cakey. I find this powder perfect for when im going out on a night to places where it may get a little too hot for my skin as it keeps everything in place. This was a little more on the pricey side for a powder as i normally pay under a fiver and this one was £12 however I did get these on 3for2 so I can’t really complain.

The last thing I picked up was Love At First Blush, which is a pinky toned blush with gold flecks. I love this blush for an everyday blush although i don’t think it is very pigmented. I wouldnt buy this one again due to that but will enjoy using what I have of it. This was £11 which isnt too bad for a blusher, I am just slightly disappointed with the pigmentation.

Overall, I have loved using the soap and glory make-up and would definitely buy more of their products!
Let me know which products of theirs you have tried down below in the comments?

Now we are all finished letting you all into my little secrets at how I get myself ready for the summer I thought it was about time I started to show you what I take etc when I go on my summer holibobs. With 7 small weeks to go till im  jetting off to Turkey for a relaxing week in the sun with Alex I have started to get all my stuff together. I am a list person and always will be, from the minute my holiday was booked I had my notebook out and the lists started. One of the first things that I like to make my lists on is my beach/pool bag. When i’m on holiday my favourite thing to do bar shopping in the local make-up stores is to lie on a sun bed and take in as much rays as I can whilst reading this summers book.

As my Summer series I thought I could take this chance to show you what I like to keep in my beach/pool bag although some things I don’t have yet due to waiting until I can find a better offer in the shops. But I can still explain what of them I like to add.

DSCF0969Above you can see the bag that I took with me last year when we went to Turkey, I have not yet seen a bag that I want as my beach bag this year so you will have to put up with last years for now. The bag is actually from Primark and I think it was only around £9 which I think it a bargain for a beach bag! It has a small hand handle and the long strap if you need it. I loved the look of this bag last year with the woven look and also loved the size. It kept everything in that I needed!

The stripy towel I have on top was also from Primark and was around £3, I get a new one each year when I go away and this is also last years as I haven’t yet done my Primark Summer shop! be prepared to see a haul soon!

DSCF0973One of the first things I make sure I pack into my beach bag is my sun cream, I love using a once a day sun cream as I just find it a lot easier although I do actually apply it more than once a day just as I don’t feel like once a day is really enough. I always start with a 30 when I go on holiday and gradually work my way down to a 10 once I have started to get a tan.

The next most important thing for me is my entertainment, first I always like to have two books with me just incase I cant get into one of them I have a back up, these are the two books im going to take away with me this year and I really cant wait to get into them! I also like to take my I-pod as sometime when I need a sleep by the pool I like to plug this in and block out all of the other noises around me. My phone is another must have, I cant go anywhere without it and seen as though my hotel has free wifi it is a definite must! Go follow me on instagram:charlottesamanthaox

I also like to carry a cover up in my beach bag just for when we head for an ice cream I can get a little bit covered up. Another is my flip flops, I have Havianas and I love them!

DSCF0974 DSCF0975

In my little cosmetics bag I carry hair bobbles, grips, hair band, lip balm and hand sanitizer for just incase moments! I also carry my small hair brush for when I have been in the pool and my hair I ready for a brush.

Sunglasses are also a must when abroad as you need something to cover up those eyes! I have a pair from hnm but am hoping to get myself a nice new pair in the airport.

The last thing I like to carry with me is my purse, although we go on all inclusive holidays, I always like to have money on me just incase we decided to venture out of the hotel complex and I see something that I just must have!

So now you know what I keep in my beach bag let me know what you keep in yours in the comments down below!
