Worth the hype?

Beauty_Blender_1 Beauty_Blender_review_1

It seemed to me that a few months ago I couldn’t scroll down Instagram without seeing a Beauty Blender pop up somewhere on my screen. So of course I jumped on that hype and was on the look out for a Beauty Blender. I already had the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge which I loved but I really wanted to know if it was better or worse or even the same as a Beauty Blender. I was searching high and low to get a Beauty Blender without paying a stupid amount on the product and also on the postage which I was finding very difficult. Then my mam and dad went over to France so of course I added it onto my wish list. They came back giving me all my goodies but no Beauty Blender, then it was my birthday and there it was sitting, perfectly wrapped. I was super happy. Ever since then I have been testing this littler beauty out and finding out what I really thought of it

Beauty_BlenderBeauty_Blender_ReviewThe price first of all really put me off, £16 for a sponge that would blend my make-up in felt a little wrong. But being the beauty lover that I am I was ready to pay this much for the little beauty. In the end I didn’t even have to pay for it as it was a present which of course makes it that little bit better. If there are any of you sitting there wondering what on earth I am talking about basically it is a make-up sponge shaped like an egg. I know strange but bare with me. The concept behind these sponges is that you wet them then squeeze out the access, this expands the sponge and allows you to blend out your foundation, concealer etc that little bit better. Of course this meant I was too excited to do my make-up. Ran straight to the tap wet it, and started to apply my make-up forgetting that I would actually want to do a blog post on this. I really liked how much it expanded when it was wet, this made it so much easier to apply my concealer. I used the round edge to smooth out concealer that I had put on any imperfections, this meant that it was blended smoothly without creating more of an emphasis on my pimples. Then I used the pointed edge to blend out my highlighter under my eyes, down my noes and n my cupids bow. This allowed me to control where the lighter concealer was rather than it blending out all over my face, making me look a little more perfected rather than a white blob. Which to be honest wouldn’t have been the look I was going for.

Beauty_BlenderI really enjoyed using this sponge and will see me using it a lot in the future. But if you are just starting out in make-up or don’t have the budget to spend on a beauty blender I would say there are others like the Real Techniques which work much the same. They still I loved how much this blended out my concealer, it didn’t leave blotchy patches and really smoothed out the over all look of my make-up. Compared to others that I have used I would say it is that little bit better, it seems to smooth everything out beauty blender I would say there are others like the Real Techniques which work much the same. They still blend out smoothly, but just not as nice as this one does. I will be doing small updates on my Instagram of how the sponge washes etc, so keep an eye out here.

Have you used a Beauty Blender, what did you think?
