REVIEW: ESSENCE

SONY DSC

A few weeks ago I was sent some exciting products from Essence which is a beauty company that has recently moved to the Uk. Essence have a philiosphy of not testing on animals but have their prices affordable so you can try new looks whenever you want! I was soso excited when I recieved my package in the post and couldnt wait to get started with it!

Sun Club Bronzer, I’ve been looking for a perfect matte bronzer for aaages and this one has defiantly filled the role of perfect matte bronzer. I have it in the colour Blondes- Lighter Skin but you can also get it in Brunette for those with darker skin. Another reasons I love this bronzer is the amazing smell, it literally smells like youve just cut open a coconut.

Longlasting Lipstick, I am a sucker for a lipstic, in fact if you looked in my make-up draws you would see that the thing I have the most of is in fact lipsticks so when I saw this one a got a tad bit excited. When i first took off the lid and saw the colour all I could think was wow. Was I really going to be able to pull off this bright pink lipstick? The answer was yes I think I possibly could, after messing around and adding different glosses on top I finally manged to say to myself ‘Yes Charlotte you can wear this lipstick’ and after I did and i loved it! The colour stays on petty well and the lipstick has a nice texture which I think is something that can be quite difficult to find when you are looking at drugstore products.

Pure Skin Anti-Spot Moisturizing Make-up. I’m the type of girl who likes to use a high coverage foundation so was excited to try out the bb cream, however i was pretty dissapointed with the colour of this. Although it is a light colour when i applied it to my skin it went totally orange and patchy. I dont know if thats because im not use to using bb creams but i just couldnt go out with it on. Maybe if you’re use to wearing bb creams this would work for you but I couldn’t get away with this product.

Muti Action Blackest Black Mascara. I’m pretty picky when it comes to mascara, if it doesnt make my lashes look full and long then I just dont want to use it. When using this mascara for the first time I was jubious to wether it would actully do what I wanted it to. But i was pleasently surprised and after a few coats my lashes looked full and long. A* for this one Essence.

2in1 Eyeliner Pen. My first reaction to this was wow, this looks interesting and to my surprise it actually went on pretty well. With a thinner end and thicker end to the eye liner i was really looking forward to using it and loved it the first time i put it on. The next day I tried to use it again and the product had dried up a little and wasnt as dark as it was the day before but i thought it may have just been due to wearing a thicker eye shadow so shrugged it off. However I went to reapply on the night as I was off to the movies and found that the eye liner had fully dried up and it looked like I was wearing a grey, washed-out eye liner rather than a black, which left me very disappointed.

Metal Glam Eyeshadow, I havent actually had the chance to use this sparkly silver eye shadow yet although when i swatched it the shimmer all rubbed off and i was left with more of a charcoal colour rather than the silver that it portrays which is a little dissapointing but im sure ill still find a time to use it.

All in all, i’d definitely buy Essence products in the future!
