April Favourites

IMG_1468

This month has seen the start of the transition. Which is from Winter to Spring, I know that the weather here in England doest exactly warrant us reaching for those Spring like colours but we have had a few days of nice weather which has made me want to put my jumpers to the back and bring forward all the fresh, clean, spring clothes. Theres been a few beauty bits this month that has been constantly in my hand when it comes to putting on my face in the morning. Its the kind of things that I start to get a little bit panicky about when I can’t find what I want. Of course I put it in a ‘safe place’ yesterday, but lets face it who knows there that safe place really is? I think my passport must be in that safe place too, I don’t know where that is?! Onto what where really here for, my month favourites.

My skin has been so dry lately which to be honest I am a little bit confused about. Ive been drinking so many bottles of water and moisturising twice a day. But something in the little bits of warm weather we are having must be drying my face out that little bit more. Thats where Hydraluron steps in, I literally don’t know what I would do without this at the moment. Every morning I apply a pea size drop and rub it around my face in circular motions just to make sure it really get into my skin. This has really helped the dry patches on my skin, particularly my forehead which has been looking very dry and flakey once I have applied my foundation. This is a little more on the pricey side and Im sure there is a cheaper alternative somewhere, but for me this is a life savour and I think ill be using it until these dry patches finally decide they are bored of wasting time on my face!

To give myself that shimmery, goddess looking. I make myself laugh, theres nothing I could apply to make me look like a goddess. But serious to highlight my face recently I have been loving using the good old Mac Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. I know every mother and their aunt has this but something about it has really got me loving it at the minute. I think with it coming into the lighter months, where Im loving going for the no make-up makeup look, this has come in handy to make me look a little like I have some kind of structure to my face. Another beauty must have this month is another oldie but goodie and thats Mac Paint Pot in Painterly, Ill let you into a little secret this is the only paint pot by mac I own and Im a little bit scared to try any of the other shades. A) Im scared ill like it more than Painterly, or B) Im scared ill hate it and never use, which would be a slight waste of money. I use this as a primer and base for my eyes, I don’t really have a problem with the pigmentation of my lids but I like to use this as a base to my eyeshadows. Fragrance of the month has to be Chance Chanel, its one of those fragrances that I don’t like to use all of the time. I like to keep it for special occasions. But this month I have been reaching for it a lot more than I normally do, weather it is a shopping trip or a meal to celebrate. I think the main reason I have been loving this is because it smells so fresh and spring like. It makes me happy and who doesn’t want to feel happy?!

If you hadn’t noticed my instagram feed lately and noticed that pretty much all month I have been wearing the same colour on my nails and that is Ciate Snow Virgin. I know the name is a little out there and for me makes me feel like I need to wear it in the winter I love this colour for the Spring and Summer. Lately Ive been loving the colour white, I think it may be my new favourite colour! Which for me is a little strange since I have always been a girly girl and pink has always been my favourite. I think the reason I have been loving it so much is because it reminds me of fresh starts and new beginnings. Which at the moment I am all about! My hair has been going a little wild lately, it is desperate need of a cut, its just one of those things I keep putting off. Is it just me who hates going to get your hair cut?, maybe thats just my anti-socialness coming out in me. But I just want to walk in have my hair cut and walk back out, I don’t want to talk about all your family and all my family, just cut my hair and let me go. Enough of a rant about the hairdressers, I think that one should be kept for another day. The Vo5 Smoothly Does It, has been amazing. Firstly it doesn’t talk to me! Secondly, it keeps my hair from looking crazy. I spray a little on my brush in the morning before I brush my hair and this seems to keep it where I want it all day. And can we talk about the smell of this please?

The last few things I want to rant about are little extras that I have been loving this month. I have to mention PLL, thats Pretty Little Liars for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, if you haven’t where have you been?! This is amazing I am on season 5 now and so close to the end but I just don’t want to get to the end and have to wait until they are on tv. Why do they do that to us? The next thing is the book I have been reading which is called The Lying Game by Sara Shepard, if you like PLL then you’ll love this. Im about half way through now and I’m hooked. I don’t want to spoil it for you and will probably be doing a review on it sometime soon, so you’ll just have to wait till then. Ohh the suspense!

What have you been loving this past month?
