No doubt this type of post will start flooding the internet in the next few weeks. But its officially Autumn so that means a few things have got to change round here. Starting with my skincare. It is >cold< out there. Which means my skin is taking a total battering. And I think what makes it even worse is the uncertainty of whether is will be freezing or warm outside.
Ive finally realised recently that it is super important to cleanse your skin properly and remove any make-up that you have had on throughout the day. I’ve always loved the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish so decided to add it back into my skincare routine. This has really helped to keep my skin feeling super hydrated rather than drying out from the make-up wipes. I’ve told myself that Ill never go back to make-up wipes, lets see if I can stick to that! I have also been using the Botanics Microdermabrasion polish once a week to help remove any dead skin cells that have built up over time. I can feel a real difference in the texture of my skin from using this. Once I have totally cleansed my skin I have been using my Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate to really hydrate my skin and try to keep the oil levels of my skin down. I have started using this every night instead of a couple of nights a week, this has replaced my night time mosituriser and I can honestly say that my skin is loving it so much more. I am still working through my Shiseido White Lucent eye cream, I do love this but I am looking forward to getting it used up and trying out a new one. Another newbie to my skincare is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, you literally pop this on any spots you have and within a few nights you spots will have totally reduced if not gone totally. I swear by this and will be certain to keep this in my skincare routine.
I have been keeping it super simple in the morning and washing my face with a small amount of the Liz Earle cleanse and polish and then using the Superdrug Vitamin E Toner, this helps with any texture that seems to have built up over night. I then use my Botanics Hydration Burst moisturiser, which I don’t love but it does the trick. It does make my skin feel soft but I find it stays pretty tacky for a while which means I have to wait to apply any of my make-up.
That’s pretty much it, its still pretty simple. But I feel like I have got into a routine that I can now keep up with. I obviously still add in the odd face mask a couple of times a week which I don’t think I will ever stop doing. Whats your favourite skincare products for the Autumn?
