A Summer Week Away Beauty Bag

With the Summer coming to an end and Autumn just around the corner I thought  we had just enough time to get one last Summer post. Since there has been a serious lack of posts lately I thought we could definitely squeeze it in. And just to 100% make sure that its ok to post this even though we are nearing the end of the Summer (kind of) I am currently on a week holiday in Norfolk. Which obviously means I had to pack these bags up anyway!

Im all about the practical life.

Although Alex would definitely disagree with that one after the kitchen cupboard were decanted into jars. My excuse is that I want everything to look pretty.

And to me that’s a good enough excuse.

Excuse you if you think not.

Before I get straight into it I thought id explain how I pack everything. Its pretty simple and won’t take me long but in essence I put everything in separate bags. AKA Make-Up in one, skincare in another etcetc. This way I can’t over pack. If it doesn’t fit in its designated bag it aint going.

The Makeup Bag

When I go away I don’t like to take too much make-up because honestly the majority of the days I put 0 make-up on. I like to have a super light weight base, this time I’ve packed my Becca Aqua Luminous Foundation, although this is light weight I find it lasts all day which is a huge bonus when you are going to be out exploring. To keep it all in place I use the lightest shade from my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, I use this rather than my usual Laura Mercier Setting Powder as this also had a lovely bronze and contour shade. You know how it is when your packing for a week away. Im still on the look out for my perfect palette which covers all bases. Let me know your favourites. For blush I have packed my Charlotte Tilbury Love is the Drug blusher because wow this is a stunning blush, and for highlight I’m popped in my trusty The Balm Mary Lou-manizer

For the eyes I have put in my Tarte Tartelette palette this is a great all round palette and a super safe option for me and again I can use this palette for my brows as well as eye lid. Always thinking of that space! I have also packed my trusty Maybelline mascara because I don’t go anywhere without a little bit of mascara on those blonde lashes of mine. To finish of the look I have been loving using the Rimmel lip liner in spices to line my lips and then use Mac Creme Cup for the centre. And that is is. There is nothing extra here unfortunately, as I said earlier I am only here for the simple make-up looks when Im out exploring the world.

My favourite bag of them all right now.

The skincare.

I seem to go through phases with skincare, and at the moment I’m here for it.

To wash my face in the morning I have packed my Simple Facial Wash, I use this with my Magnitone Vibra Sonic Brush. This helps my skin to feel super soft on a morning. I will then use the Sunday Riley Brightening Serum because Im obviously all about trying to get my face a little brighter. For moisturiser Im using the Superdrug Vitamin E day cream which has SPF 15 in. We all know how important it is to protect your face. This way I don’t have to apply ten thousand creams as its an all in one. PERFECT.

On an evening Ill wash the days dirt off with the Magnitone Wipe Out, this way I don’t have to pack lots of cleansers. I will also use the Simple Facial Wash again just to make sure we have got all the grime off. I have popped in the Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads to tone on an evening because I have to exfoliate otherwise my skin hates me. Seriously. To end on an evening I have put in the Beauti Beauty Sleep Elixir which I have been loving.  This is the perfect oil to use on a night and I can honestly say my skin feels 10x better when I use this. If I do want a little treat for my skin I have chucked in the Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask which my skin absolutely loves. Its super gentle and calming.

Onto the extras.

The ones we add and sometimes don’t end up using them.

Ok, slight exaggeration there because I will be spritzing my Jo Malone Pomegrante Noir perfume everyday, its the perfect fruity, floral summer scent. Although one product I have packed is the Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Body Lotion, I either go all out and put this on everyday or Ill never use it. If I don’t I’m being super hopeful and have told myself Ill use the Nuxe Multi-Purpose Oil, I know Im probably being a little silly packing both of these but a girl can try.

I was sensible when it came to hair care and only packed my Quai texture Hair Spray, cause this girl wants to go all out with the hair styling. Keep an eye on my instagram you never know there may be a few snaps up! The other product I have packed is my Moroccan Oil Hair Oil, I use this every time I wash my hair and honestly this product has lasted me around 2 years now. It keeps my hair looking silky and just like its living its best life.

And that’s it folks.

All the products Im taking away on my staycation. Let me know if you take more or less than I do in the comments!
