A Spring Make-Up Refresh

Although there may be many of you who have given up on the daily make-up wear, for me it brings me a little bit of normality. Theres definitely been a few days when I just don’t feel like wearing make-up but for the majority of the time the 20 minutes of sitting, sipping my coffee on a morning lets me forget the craziness that is the world right now.

The sun has suddenly made its appearance as if it knows the population needs a little cheering up, and not only did I need a little cheer up but my go-to makeup need a little shake up. Lets call it a refresh.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have loved pulling out some of the old makeup products that I once loved and thats pretty much what we’ve got here, with a couple of recently new in Charlotte Tilbury products because well its Charlotte Tilbury and they are high up there with my favourite make-up brand.

In Spring I love nothing more than a super glowy base, obviously we want it to look flawless too because thats top of my priority list. I recently picked up the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation which I knows sounds like it goes totally against my last point of a flawless base. But hear me out. I used this for the first time a couple of days ago and with a little building this is a pretty medium coverage foundation. Add your favourite concealer to any of the areas that need a little pick me up and your good to go. There are some other more full coverage foundations out there that can you give you a really full coverage like the It Cosmetics CC cream

When it comes to bronzing im always the type to go for something pretty matte, the Benefit Hoola Bronzer has been a go to me for a lifetime, but I have also loved the Nars Laguna bronzer and if im after a little bit of cream bronzing I will always reach for my Chanel Soil De Tan. Whilst we want to give the face a little bit of a sun kissed look we’re not in to the super bronzed goddess looks just yet. To add that added glow I add a little bit too much highlighter, but we all do that don’t we? The Ofra Rodeo Drive highlighter has been my go to recently. Its got that perfect golden glow that we need in the Spring, I will also always love my Mac Soft & Gentle and The Balm Mary Lou Minizer. Honestly I could go on and on with the highlighters but lets leave it at that for this post. To add a pop of colour I like to add something that is going to give me a rosey look, I love anything peachy, pink toned for this time of year. My go to recently has been the Nars Orgasm blush, I feel like we are seeing a reoccurring theme with Nars here.

Im not a big eyeshadow gal, I only ever wear it if Im feeling a little bit extra. But lately (with the extra time we’ve got) Ive been putting it on a lot more than I usually ever have. Ive been reaching for this NYX Warm Neutrals palette, it literally has everything in for a soft everyday look, to a soft glam look or if your feeling a little extra and its a stay-at-home date night kinda look you can create a really sexy smokey look. Obviously nobody has their eyelashes looking on point right now so we will coat the lashes with a a good 30 blinks of mascara. Anyone else blink when they are putting their mascara on, let me know! Im sure I’ll not be the only one.

For the lips, if we are going for something that is going to last a good few hours I have been reaching for the Charlotte Tilbury JK Magic lipstick, a subtle pinky nude tone which is a great all rounder and stands up pretty well with the amount of coffees we seem to be drinking during the pandemic. I also love the NYX Creme Brûlée lip gloss or just sticking on some lip balm, my go to is the Lano Lips

And with that Im ready to it in the house, looking fabulous I must add!
