Skincare for me has only just come to a head recently, with my love for skincare growing. 2014 is where my love for skincare grew and you can see my favourites in this post here. But now I’ve found a routine that has really helped my skin, im no expert but what I do right now is helping to keep the spots at bay, keeping the oil away and also keeping my skin fully hydrated. For those of you who are new here, hello and just so you know I have combination/oily skin. My T-zone is where the main bulk of the oil is with smaller patches of dry skin round the rest of my face. I struggled finding products that would suit this type of skin and with my testing Ive found my perfect skincare. (For now)
The first thing I do when I wake up is wash my face with my La Roche Posay Cleanser. This foams up into an amazing face wash, it helps to calm the oil on my face and sets me up for the day. I add a pea size amount to my finger tips and lather it up in my hands before gently rubbing it around my face. To remove the cleaner I splash water on my face until all the product has been removed. The reason I dont use a face cloth to remove it is because I have sensitive skin on a morning, if I use a facecloth it tends to leave my skin looking red, which I personally would rather not have. This cleanser is for oily/sensitive skin which is the main reason Ive been loving using this one, it really does help to combat the oil.
To tone I use the La Roche Posay Toner, this helps to mattify the skin and also reduce the viability of pores. I drop a few drops of this onto a round of cotton wool and gently rub it on my face. Especially in my T-Zone as this is my most pored area and where I get the most oil. I couldn’t find the actual product I use online but the link is the set which is came in.
Hydrating my skin is an essential these days, before moisturising I like to add a small amount of Hydraluron Serum, this is a water based product which can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. Helping to lock in the hydration, getting rid of any dry patches that I may have. I then add my Clinique Moisture Surge moisturiser and apply this to my face and next, giving me the moisture that I need. To keep my eyes looking awake Ive been using this sample from Arbonne, its an eye gel which I much prefer to keep my eyes awake.
The last step for me is to use my Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip care. You will have heard me rave about this lots in 2014. It gets rid of all traces of dry skin on my lips, making them ready for lipstick.
What products do you use on a morning? Let me know in the comments below.
