2017 was a great year for beauty. I feel like 2017 was a year of getting rid of the old products and introducing lots of new ones. Although there was of course some that I just can’t stop using, that keep coming back to me and I’m just not sure I could live without them. I say of all of this although, I am pretty excited to be able to buy a hella of a lot more this year, all the scrimping and saving is done and I can no splurge a little more on myself. I have told myself I want to invest in some real nice things this year, lets just hope I leave 2018 with the bag of my dreams.
My first love of 2017 was the Pixi Glow Tonic, I still stand by my word this this is the beauty that helped my skin out last year. I used this every night after cleansing and I swear I could fill this working straight away, its a liquid exfoliator which helps to tone, firm and tighten. The easiest way to exfoliate if you ask me!
Whilst we are on the talk of skincare there are another two products that have made such a difference to my usual dull skin. The first is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, I didn’t actually start using this till August but I am so glad i did. One pot down and I am 100% going to be buying another one (as soon as January pay hits, Christmas has broke me). I pop a little on to any blemishes I have, at the moment I just cover my whole face and in the morning I wake with much smaller blemishes. like magic!
The last in skincare is a product I have been using for a few years now, the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I have definitely mentioned this once or twice on my blog in the past, that’s for sure. But this seems to help clear up and scaring I have from blemishes.
As I said before I haven’t been able to buy lots of new things this past year, but the few items I have bought have turned out to be some of my favourites. I actually bought this one in New York 2016, but is my go to lip product and I’m pretty sure im coming to the end of it. Is the Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick. The formula of these liquid lipsticks are amazing this one is in the shade Dusty Rose, make it the one thing you treat yourself to this January you wont regret it.
Another liquid lipstick which has been worn non stop since November, because that’s when Christmas starts right? Is the Mac Retro Matte liquid Lip colour in the shade Dance With Me, you knew it was a red right? Although I do find this can be a little chunky after the second application, if you totally get rid of it then apply this one is a beaut, and it does last a good few hours I promise. I’m wanting to try some more shades from this line in 2018.
If you’ve been a loyal reader of mine you know the struggles with my skin are real. My foundation always seems to have literally melted from my face when we hit 12pm. Not the look I was going for when I put it on at 8am, but something I couldn’t control. Until the ever so famous launch of Glossier to the Uk. For any of you melty foundation gals out there, I got you. Glossier Wowder is the best powder I have ever used. In the whole 10 years of applying make-up, albeit the 13 year old me wearing the darkest foundation ever, this is the best yet. It keeps my foundation put for the entirety of the day.
And for those nasty blemishes that just seem to be making my face there home, the Seventeen Stay Time Concealer. This little beauty has covered many a blemish in 2017 and will continue to in 2018, unless you can give me some better suggestions but for a concealer under £5, I’m gunna keep using it.
I have two fragrances from 2017 that I had to mention, first is the Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin scent, which is my go to for those days when I’m wanting to feel a little extra fresh. And the Charlotte Tilbury perfume for those days when lets say I’m feeling a little more sassy. We all have those days when we have our sassy pants on right?
Lets see what 2018 has in store!

7 years agoI need to get the Glossier wowder powder, I’ve watched a makeup tutorial with someone using it and now I’ve read you’ve loved it so I need to place an order. Would you say the stay time by Seventeen is hydrating?
