New in from Superdrug

The problem with trying to use up all the products that you already have is that they all seem to go at the same time. Then when you go shopping its all the boring things you have to buy that you pretty much know you love anyway cause that make-up has to last you. Adult life is just so hard. I miss buying foundation without testing the colour, living on the edge was so much more fun. But when your girl got her house, you best believe I am going to go on the biggest make-up splurge of my life. Like I mean, im gunna go craycray. But since I did actually buy some make-up, and yes before you get all bitch up on me, I am super grateful that I can afford to buy this make-up to start with. You know how much I love me some make-up though. Lets get back on track Charlotte.

Basically, I thought I’d show you what I picked up anyway. (And Superdrug had 3 for 2 on, winning)

I was desperate for a new foundation.

I was taking the lid off my old foundation and hitting it onto the back of my hand until a drop fell out. No joke I had bruises on the back of my hand. It was definitely time to get a new one. I decided to be a little brave and try a completely new one. I know I am the shade True Ivory in Rimmel foundations, I suppose I played it slightly safe. But I picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation. If you have read any of my previous posts you know I love the Rimmel Lasting Perfection foundation but I just wanted to try something new. I do really like this foundation but I have found it is a little thick, it has an almost gel consistency to it. This is probably due to the comfort serum it has built into it, I’m not saying its a bad thing. Just not what I’m use to I suppose. This foundation is £7.99, pretty average for drugstore foundations. I’m gunna keep going with this and see how I go. I’ll report back.

I played it super safe with my concealer choice.

You probably guessed it right.

Collection Lasting Perfection, in shade 1 to brighten my under eyes and shade 2 to cover those little blemishes that seem to be popping up at the moment. If you have never used this 1. who are you 2. where have you been. But really, this is a super creamy concealer that blends soso well. It’s only £4.99 too! Have you ever bought an amazing concealer for below that. If the answer is yes, why have you not told me yet?

You can pretty much always get an amazing mascara from Superdrug or Boots. I was unsure of weather to try the Maybelline Lash Sensational as I had heard so many amazing things about it. I was totally swayed into buying the new Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara. I am total novelty kinda gal, thats for sure.

Im finding the new mascara pretty good so far. It seems to separate and create lots of volume and length to my lashes. Which means it ticks all the boxes for me. The only one thing I have to say about it. The packaging is U-G-L-Y, you aint got no alibi, you UGLY. And it is so heavy. I know your probably thinking its not all about the packaging, its about whats inside. But, that aint gunna look pretty in an instagram post is it. This mascara is £8.99, again pretty average for a mascara from Superdrug. But do let me know if you have tried some cheaper alternatives that are ace!

When it comes to eyeliner I’m pretty shitty. I tell myself its the shape of my eye but I think its more my application technique. I feel really profesh when I talk about the technique of how I apply my eye liner. Really, Im just shit at it. And I can pretty much guarantee that every single day my eye liner is different on both eyes.

I decided to try a different type of eye liner and went with the Rimmel Exaggerate liquid liner. Apparently I love Rimmel. I have actually been really enjoying using this liner. I have found I can get a much more precise line than the felt tip type liners I have used in the past. This was £5.29 which I think is super reasonable for an eyeliner.

The last item I bought was on a whim.

I really wanted to try something from the new Nip + Fab make-up range. I decided to go with one of the Matte liquid lipsticks in the shade Marshmallow. This is what I was talking about at the start of this post about buying without really knowing what the colour is etc. I did search for swatches on google but tbh there wasn’t that many. Luckily I bought a shade that I am totally obsessed with! I wore this out on Sunday when I went for an Italian with my friend and it actually stayed put after lots of chatting, drinking and a whole lot of eating. I was so impressed. So much so I will definitely be trying to get my hands on some more of these. This was £7.99 which is pretty good for an amazing liquid lipstick.
