LA ROCHE POSAY EFFACLAR DUO DUPE?!

This is a post that I have been searching for since I got my hands on La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and havent really managed to find many but at last I have found something that personally I believe is a very good dupe. Although it is not as good as the original I think that if you cant quite stretch your purse to meet the cost of the Effaclar Duo than this would do the trick.

First lets talk about the original La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, its a treatment cream that helps with those pesky little blemishes, bad pigmentation and other imperfections which may appear on your face. I bought mine personally for small and big blemishes that would creep upon me. I applied this every night once I had taken off my make-up and toned instead of putting moisturiser, for about a week, which helped wonders with my blemishes. After the week was over I returned to my normal night time moisturiser and only used this on areas that needed it or all over m face for one night a week. It really helped to clear my bad skin!

It has a really fruity smell and is a cram but kinda like a gel once you’ve rubbed it in, you get a 40ml tube which honestly goes along way! Ive had mine since November 2013 and still have some left! and like I say I use it every week, it is on the slightly pricey side at £15.50 but it is definitely well worth it!

Now onto the product that I have found which is similar to the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo and that is the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector. I bought this on a whim in Asda thinking that it may be similar to the original that I had bought and oh is it similar. The products aim is to hide dark spots and lessen them which was my goal when my buying the Effclar Duo s when I saw this I thought why not give it a go.

The casing of the product is slightly different with it being a metal bottle rather than plastic but the applicator part is similar with the nozzle end. This Garnier product smells exactly the same, if someone was to blindfold me and ask me to smell both and guess which one was which I simply wouldn’t be able too. The product itself has the same consistency as the original, being creamy to look at but once rubbed into the skin is more like a gel. You get an extra 10ml with this being at 50ml a bottle which is always a positive and it costs much less than the Effaclar Duo retailing at £9.99 but I got for a bargain price of £3.99 in Asda.  The only difference I have really seen with this is that it takes longer too work than the Effaclar Duo takes which means that when I originally used it for a week and it helped and had to use this for more like a week and half/ two weeks. Which when im trying to get rid of spots is not good!

Overall, if you can afford to buy the Effaclar Duo then do it! but if you are looking for something that is a little bit cheaper but works a little bit slower then go for the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector.
