Morning Skincare Routine 4

If you have been reading CharlotteSamantha for a while you will know I’m not a girl who religiously sticks to skin care and I have been battling with my skin for some years now. For some reason I can’t get the hang of what my skin is after, then I think I know and the next day I wake up with the total opposite. I seem to have a slight routine going at the moment which I think is working pretty well for my skin. Just so you know I have combination skin, I tend to get an oily T zone with dry patches around the edges of my face. I am very spot prone which I think is from the oily skin and I also have enlarged pores. Maybe a little TMI but, I think its important you know that this is something that we may suffer with. For this morning routine I tend to wake myself up on a morning, I must have my morning hit of caffeine before I even think of looking at myself in the mirror.

Morning Skincare Routine

I wash my face with the Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash, this has very small beads in that help to remove any un wanted dirt from your face. Dont be put off by the beads these dissolve in the warm water as you are washing it off, which is a huge positive for me. I was going through a phase of using things that had super harsh beads in that would leave my face red raw. I thought that this was helping to combat the oily skin, but I was soso wrong. Once I have rinsed this off I can feel a huge difference in the way my skin feels and looks, there is no real residue left on my face and my face looks so much brighter. I then use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic as my toner. I pore a small amount on a cotton pad and swipe this around my face. I tend to focus on areas that I have my enlarged pores as this helps to tighten the skin around this area. I don’t know how much I believe that this helps with my enlarged pores but I tend to hope that it does so I use it every morning. I then add my hydraluron, which is a serum based product. This helps keep your skin super hydrated, you can find my review on it here. I fell into the trap of thinking that because I was battling with oily skin I didn’t want to add any more moisture into my skin than I already had. But this was actually just making my skin 10 times worse. Making my skin think it needed to produce more oil due to me washing it 5 times a day. This helps to lock in any nutrients and keep the layers of skin fully hydrated. I then add my morning moisture, I have to be honest this is probably the main product that I change-up. Purely because I feel as though my skin gets to use to the same one and then starts to play up. At the moment I am using Yes To Cucumbers Sensitive Skin The last step for me on a morning is adding a lip balm, I like to do this at this point to make sure that when I got to apply my lipstick my lips aren’t chapped or anything else nasty like that. If you are a loyal reader you will know my love for the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip balm. I honestly wouldn’t go to anything else for my first lip balm of the day.

I used to be in a company that did PR for Yes To and they are such a good, healthy brand. The ingredients are minimal and so kind to your skin. I’m oily so I use YT Tomatoes. Love it!

I think it’s specifically for oily skin, so if you do have oily skin, absolutely go for it!!
