Beauty // Blogger Made Me Buy It

I’ve been seeing these around a lot lately and absolutely love reading them, they sometimes give me a little giggle. Whilst reading them thought I was totally adamant that I didn’t follow trends, I didn’t buy things because I saw somebody use it in a YouTube video or mention them on social media. Even see a photo on a blog post that looked amazing. But then when I actually looked through my make-up collection I realised that I actually do sometimes buy things because I saw someone using them. To be honest with you the only reason I looked through my make-up draws with this mind-set is because after watching a YouTube video I was straight onto the internet to find out if I could get the product. Oops.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, I remember at a year and a half ago I was desperate to get my hands on this. I added it to all my lists, birthday, christmas etc. Everyone I talked to seemed to be talking about how amazing this product was and how I needed to have it. I felt as though I couldn’t do my make-up without having this setting spray in my life. Honestly, I’d never had a setting spray before so I didn’t really know what it was going to do. But I knew I had to have it. I eventually got my hands on it at first I was using it literally every time I applied my make-up. I do find it keeps my make-up lasting longer but I soon realised that I couldn’t afford to use it every day over the top of my make-up. For me it’s definitely something i would keep in my make-up collection, but not a necessity.

Nars Laguna Bronzer, when I first started watching YouTube videos and reading blogs this was everything. I knew I needed it but knew when I was just starting to get into beauty I had to wait a little while. If I had got this straight away I think I would have been walking around looking a little more bronzed than I was going for. I hadn’t quite got to grips with the whole tap of the excess. Instead I just applied it all to the face and hope for the best. Now I kinda know what I am doing a little more with make-up it applies amazingly. I would say I definitely use this at least once a week, I always know its going to look natural.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer, when highlighter made its big break this was all everyone was talking about. And another that will be coming in part two of the Blogger Made Me Buy It. To be honest I wouldn’t say this one is worth it. I really don’t get the hype with this one. I don’t know if it just not the right shade for me but I don’t seem to get much pay off from it. I also find that when I apply the product to my brush the, it almost crumbles. Maybe it’s just me but I just don’t see the fuss with this one.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade, after everybody raving about how good the ABH brow products where I had to try at least one of them. The dip brow pomade applied to me the most because it seemed like such an easy product and I was a little board of the usual pencil application. When I first got this I threw it at the back of my draw because it was so damn hard to get use to. I couldn’t get the knack of the consistency. I also found that if you made a mistake it was really hard to fix because the pomade is super thick. Now I wouldn’t go back to anything else. The trick I have found is to not put too much on your brush, it’s so much easier to add more product than it is to take the product away. I literally couldn’t be without this product now but think I may try some of the other ABH products soon.

Mac 217 Brush, this is a little different as it is a beauty tool. But non the less I bought this because I heard so many people talking about it. This is possibly the best thing to happen to me when I first started wearing eyeshadow. Before this brush it was a mess between my eyeshadow and the rest of make-up, but now we all know the beauty law of blending. This is one brush that I think I will always keep in my collection. It helps with any eyeshadow mishaps. And lets not all lie, that morning you where in a rush putting your make-up on and you got mascara on your eyelid, just grab this brush and wipe it away. It’s that simple! You need this.

What beauty products did bloggers make you buy? Do I need them?

I need to get a MAC 217! Love these types of posts, surprised you don’t like Mary Lou. I haven’t tried it myself but haven’t met anyone who has had a bad experience with it, so this was really interesting. I love Nars Casino bronzer (Laguna is too light for me), it is one of the only products I have hit pan on. Nars face powders are beautiful, great post. I followed you on Bloglovin’ xxx

I love the ‘blogger made me buy it’ tag that’s been going around. I dread to think how many parts I’d have to post if I look through my collection. I’m forever buying things just because I see a YouTuber or Blogger raving about it!!
P.S I’m going to buy the MAC 217 now after realising I don’t have it in my collection yet!
